Lost Card Protection


Lost Card Protection and Card Replacement protects you in the event of non-PIN related fraud on your account if your card is lost or stolen. All you need to do is report the loss or theft immediately to the dedicated, 24-hour, toll-free, Lost Card hotline and provide written confirmation of this within 24 hours.

The Credit Card Budget Facility is a convenient feature that allows you to choose from a range of repayment periods from 6 - 60 months It is ideal for making larger purchases and paying it off over longer periods of time. Did you know that FNB Credit Card's Auto Payment Solution allows you to pay your account with ease and serves as a safety net? Have the convenience of having your credit card account paid automatically on time, every time. The Auto Payment Solution works with a 'built in' calculator which takes into account any pre-payments and deducts these amounts from the required debit order amount.

Credit cardholders can select one of six convenient Auto Payment Solutions which will be applied monthly to pay your account:

  • Fixed amount - Pay a fixed amount of your choice. This amount cannot be less than the minimum amount owed
  • Full amount - Settle the full outstanding balance including your budget instalment(s) for the relevant month
  • Full straight statement balance - Settle the full amount outstanding on the straight facility as indicated on your statement monthly
  • Minimum payment amount due - Pay only the minimum amount outstanding on your account monthly, ie 5% of your full outstanding balance
  • Percentage payment - Select a percentage of outstanding balance to be deducted monthly. This amount can be anything from 5% - 100%

Easy steps to set up an Auto Payment Solution:

  • Log on to your internet banking profile and click on My Bank Account , then My Accounts
  • Select the relevant credit card and click on Settings
  • Then click on Auto Payment Solution and select your Auto Payment Option
  • You will then be required to enter the details of the account from which you want to make the payment
  • A confrmation screen will pop up, click on Confrm and then Finish

On the payment due date, your amount payable (as per the payment option you have selected) will automatically be deducted from your bank account and your credit card will be credited subject to one day "uncleared effects"

Balance Transfer


With a Balance Transfer from FNB, you can consolidate your debt and make one repayment, as well as have a holistic view of all your payments in one statement.

Consolidate and transfer your outstanding debt (retail store debt, short term loans, personal loans and other credit card debt) into the budget facility of your FNB Credit Card and pay an interest rate of prime +1%, for the first 9 months, thereafter ruling interest rates will apply.

Protect your card against fraudulent use online. Online Secure uses a One Time PIN (OTP) that is sent to you and comes at no extra cost. To activate Online Secure on your card, you must be an Online Banking user.

Online Secure is a free service and can easily be activated from your Online Banking profile.

Activate your card by logging on to your Online Banking profile and following these prompts:

  1. Log in to FNB Online Banking.
  2. Select the My Bank Accounts sub tab.
  3. Select the card you would like to activate.
  4. Select Activate Now under the Online Secure column.
  5. Click I accept and agree to the Disclaimer above.
  6. Select Finish on the Activation Results screen.

How to use Online Secure when shopping online:

  • Once activated, proceed to the checkout.
  • Type in your 16-digit card number when prompted.
