Secure your deal
Various documents are required to process your home loan. These include:
- Valid identification
- Marriage certificate (if applicable)
- Antenuptial Contract (ANC) if you are married out of community
- Income +expenditure and assets + liabilities statement
- Payslips for proof of your income (and that of spouse if applicable)
- If self-employed, bring current financial statements or an auditor's letter confirming your income
Upfront bond
Prepare with a pre-approval
You can apply for a pre-approval certificate, stating how much you qualify for. This provides you with bargaining power when house hunting.
Once you have the pre-approval certificate, you can more easily negotiate pricing with estate agents and the like. You also have peace of mind regarding how much you can realistically afford.
