Why do I need this?

  • You can send Money to friends and family members or make a payment to anyone simply and easily.
  • Money can be sent to anyone who has a valid Namibian cellphone number and the recipient does not need to have a bank account.
  • Any cellphone model can be used to Send Money or to receive money.
  • Money is instantly available in the eWallet.
  • Recipients will be able access the money immediately at an FNB ATM without needing a bank card and without filling in any forms.
  • Recipients don't have to withdraw all the money at once.
  • They can also check the balance, get a mini statement, buy prepaid airtime, Send Money on to someone else's Cellphone.
  • You can Send Money at any time of the day or night via Cellphone Banking, FNB Online Banking, or at an FNB ATM.

The eWallet from FNB allows you to:

A recipient of money can:

  • Send a portion of the money in the eWallet to another eWallet.
  • Withdraw all or some of the money from the eWallet at an FNB ATM without needing a bank card. The rest of the money can be withdrawn at a later stage.
  • Buy prepaid airtime from the eWallet.
  • Check the eWallet account balance or get a mini statement

Do I qualify?

Sending from an FNB transactional account:

  • To send via an ATM: No registration or application is necessary- you only need an active FNB transactional account and FNB card
  • To send via Cellphone Banking: You need to register for Cellphone Banking
  • To send via Online Banking: You need to register for Online Banking

Note:
If you are not an FNB customer, you can send money by obtaining an eWallet and send money from the eWallet using your cellphone.

What do I get?

  • The convenience of being able to Send Money to anyone, as long as that recipient has a valid Namibian cellphone number.
  • The recipient does not need a bank account or bank card.
  • Money can be sent anytime and from anywhere, even from the comfort and safety of your own home, like FNB Online Banking, Cellphone Banking, www.fnbna.mobi and the FNB Banking App

What else do I need to know?

  • There is a daily limit of N$2,000 per day per eWallet sent, which includes Prepaid transactions. The eWallet can receive up to N$25,000 per month, but the balance of the eWallet may not exceed N$2,000 at any given time.

How do I Send Money?

To send money via Cellphone Banking:

  1. Dial *140*321#
  2. Select eWallet
  3. Select Send Money
  4. Select the account you want to Send Money From
  5. Key in the Cellphone number you want to send to
  6. Enter the amount you want to send
  7. Confirm that all is correct (make sure you entered the right Cellphone number)

To Send Money via an FNB Online Banking:

  1. Log into Online Banking
  2. Select Send Money
  3. Select Once Off Payment (PIN)
  4. Enter Cellphone number and the amount
  5. Select the account you want to Send Money From
  6. Click on Send
  7. A confirmation screen with the details to which you wish to send money to will appear
  8. Click on confirm
  9. Enter your One Time PIN (OTP)
  10. Click on confirm

To Send Money via an FNB ATM:

  1. Insert your card and enter your PIN
  2. Select More options
  3. Select Send Money
  4. Key in the Cellphone number you want to send money to and select Proceed
  5. Key in the amount you want to send money to and select Proceed
  6. Confirm that all the details are correct and select Proceed
  7. Remember to take your card

To Send Money Via FNB Banking App:

  1. Log into the FNB Banking App
  2. Select Send Money
  3. Select the account you want to Send Money From
  4. Enter the amount
  5. Key in the Cellphone number you want to send to
  6. Select confirm (make sure you entered the right Cellphone number)

To Send Money Via FNBna.Mobi:

  1. Log into FNBna.mobi
  2. Click on the drop down next to the account from where you want to send the eWallet
  3. Select Pay Someone
  4. Select eWallet
  5. Select To an eWallet
  6. Select the account you want to Send Money From, Select or key in the Cellphone number you want to send to
  7. Enter amount
  8. Select continue
  9. Select send to confirm

How do I Receive Money?

  1. You receive and SMS telling you that money has been sent
  2. Dial *140*392# to access the eWallet
  3. Select Get Cash
  4. You'll receive an SMS with a temporary ATM PIN which is valid for 30 minutes
  5. Go to an FNB ATM
  6. At the ATM press the green button (enter/ proceed) and then Wallet Services
  7. Key in your Cellphone number and temporary ATM PIN
  8. Choose the amount of money to withdraw. Make sure that either your transaction has ended or that you press 'cancel' before leaving the ATM

How do I purchase Prepaid Electricity?

How do I buy Prepaid Electricity using Online Banking?

  1. Log into Online Banking
  2. Click on buy
  3. Select electricity
  4. Choose the recharge amount
  5. Enter meter number
  6. Select the account that you would like to use to make the purchase from the drop down list
  7. A confirmation page will be displayed
  8. Check that this information is correct and, if necessary, click on Edit to make amendments
  9. Before you can continue you will be required to acknowledge that you have read the Disclaimer
  10. Click on Confirm to proceed
  11. The results of your request will be displayed
  12. Take note of your token number as you will need to enter this on your meter in order to recharge your electricity meter

How do I buy Prepaid Electricity using Cellphone Banking?

  1. Dial *140*321# on your mobile phone
  2. The system will welcome you to FNB Cellphone Banking and ask you to select reply / answer on your Cellphone and key in your 5 digit Cellphone Banking PIN
  3. The main menu is displayed
  4. Select Prepaid
  5. Select Electricity
  6. Select the account from which you wish to transact
  7. Key in the meter number
  8. Enter or select the electricity amount
  9. The system displays a confirmation screen with the transaction details and will prompt you to confirm
  10. The system will then indicate whether or not the transaction was successful
  11. You will then receive a SMS indicating that the transaction was successful. The SMS will include: your recharge token number

How do I buy Prepaid Electricity from an ATM?

  1. Insert your ATM card and PIN
  2. The system will display the Main Menu
  3. Select "Buy It/Pay It"
  4. The will display 2 options and prompt you to select either Buy prepaid electricity or Reprint the last purchase receipt
  5. The system will display the Terms and Conditions
  6. If you are happy with the Terms & Conditions, select "Accept"
  7. Select "Buy prepaid electricity"
  8. The system will prompt you to enter a valid meter number
  9. The system then displays a list of predefined amounts with an Own Amount option and will prompt you to enter/select an amount they wish to purchase for
  10. Select / enter an amount
  11. The system display a list of accounts that you are able to purchase from and will prompt you to select an account
  12. The system displays a confirmation screen with the transaction details and will prompt you to confirm
  13. Confirms the transaction details
  14. The system prints the receipt, which will include: your recharge token number

How do I Buy Prepaid Electricity using FNB Banking App?

  1. Log into the FNB Banking App
  2. Click on the drop down next to the account from where you want to Buy the prepaid electricity from
  3. Select Buy Prepaid
  4. Select Prepaid Electricity
  5. Select the amount
  6. Enter Meter number
  7. Enter Amount
  8. Select purchase to Confirm

How do I buy Prepaid Electricity using FNBna.mobi?

  1. Log into FNbna.mobi
  2. Click on the drop down next to the account from where you want to Buy the prepaid electricity from
  3. Select Buy prepaid
  4. Select electricity
  5. Select the account that you would like to use to make the purchase from
  6. Enter Meter Number
  7. Select or enter amount
  8. Confirm that all is correct (make sure you entered the right Cellphone number)

Important information:

  1. If you have been sent money but you have no airtime, dial *140*999# to buy airtime with the money that has been sent to you.
  2. If an eWallet has not been activated within 13 days, the money will be returned to the sender.
  3. Dial *140*392# to request a PIN, if it expires.
  4. Please ensure that the cellphone number of the person you are sending money to is correct.
